I have attended sales, both at their new purpose built venue and their previous premises, over a number of years. Sheffield Auction Gallery ranks high on my list of auctions worth attending. The staff here are always pleasant, courteous, and willing to help, whilst the majority of lots on offer are interesting, good quality and varied, with plenty to suit both trade and private buyers.
Auctions are held twice a month on average, usually on a Friday at 10 am, with viewing the previous day and on the morning of the sale from 8. 30 am.

Sheffield Auctioneers, A. E. Dowse hold auctions which include Fine Art and Antique, Victoriana and Collectables, as well as specialist Diecast, Tinplate and Collectors’ Toys, with minimum of 28 auctions each year.

Wilbys hold antique, collectable and general sales every month, with occasional specialist sales. The sales are held at Milton Hall, Fitzwilliam Street, Elsecar, usually on aThursday. I have known Pierre Maciag, the main auctioneer and valuer, for many years, he is a pleasant chap, with a good knowledge of the antique trade and is always willing to help with any queries you may have.

Paul Beighton holds an antique, collectable and general sale, fortnightly on Sundays in the main, with specialist fine art sales held periodically.
I have attended sales here many times over the years, usually managing to buy at least a few items. The saleroom staff are pleasant and the porters are always willing to give a hand loading up if needed.

Wilkinson’s Auctioneers. (Doncaster)
Wilkinson’s auctioneers specialize in early oak furniture and fine art, consequently, they only hold six sales per year. Many of their lots sell for five figure sums, making this auction suitable for the specialist collector or investor in particular. Their website is well worth a visit, where many of the wonderful lots they have sold are featured.
