Glenn and Head Chef Reece welcome you to the smart contemporary 60-cover brasserie. We also offer a fine selection of drinks in our traditional public bar. It serves the very best classic English and Italian cuisine, from mouth-watering homemade pizzas and pasta dishes to seasonal game, fish of the day and wicked puddings in an equally modern setting.
Hallmark dishes, which are established favorites include Beef Carpaccio Roquet and parmesan salad with a honey and caper vinaigrette. Trio of duck Smoked Yorkshire duck breast, poached duck egg and a duck ballontine. Tagliatelle al Arrabiata or Granchio (Crab). Slow cooked lamb shank Sweet potato mash, chargrilled asparagus and a lamb jus. Beer Battered Haddock and Chips. 10 oz Flat Iron Yorkshire Steak Served with chips, confit shallots, slow roast tomato and flat mushroom or our homemade White Swan Beefburger. For those with a sweet tooth we have a selection of homemade desserts from Parkin with treacle sauce and clotted cream ice cream. Signature Chocolate Brownie, Apple and Cinnamon Crumble and White chocolate pannacotta with raspberry compote. All food is freshly prepared, using a wide variety of mainly Yorkshire ingredients from Whitby to Swaledale.
We also offer Cream Teas from 3pm to 5pm £4.95 per person.All meals at the white swan hotel, including breakfast, are served in the brasserie or bar. Sandwiches are also available at lunchtime.
