Accommodation in Sandsend

Sunnybank has three bedrooms all with sea views, two bathrooms with showers; large kitchen with dining area; a spacious lounge; a tranquil reading room (with sofa bed if required); an outside warm water shower and a utility room. There is a private drive with off road parking for up to 4 cars and enclosed gardens - perfect for watching the nautical world go by.

Garden

The fenced garden at the front of the house with seating provides a safe outdoor haven from which to look out over the sea and Sandsend or enjoy a sun downer or picnic with friends or family. The Rocket House below used to house the rockets to call out the Whitby lifeboat on stormy nights! Steps at the back of the house allow access to the enclosed rear garden, which provides shade on hot days near the path of the old railway line (now green with gardens and flowers).

Kitchen

Completely renewed, this spacious well equipped kitchen and dining area has a large two metre oak table, providing seating for up to 10 people, and a large comfy sofa to watch the wall mounted flatscreen TV/DVD or the cook at work! Facilities include double oven range cooker (with grill), American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher & microwave. The stable door provides quick access to the garden and driveway where a utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. There is ample storage space in the outside utility room for your beach, biking or walking equipment, as well as a separate WC. The hot water outside shower is ideal for use when you come up from the beach.

Lounge

Why not take the best seats in the house in the panoramic bay window to enjoy breathtaking views of the sea from the Ness to Whitby Abbey, so close you may be tempted to dive in! Or watch a movie on the large flat screen TV (with freeview channels & DVD player) whilst relaxing on the elegant sofas. The lounge is the perfect family room to spend time together.

Reading Room

The elegant reading room with sea and coastal views makes it an ideal place to relax and get away from it all. Curl up with a book on the cosy sofabed or armchair or gaze out of the bay windows towards Whitby or the Ness from the comfortable Laura Ashley chairs.

Margot's Bedroom

Margot's room is the jewel in the crown! With its painted white floor boards, elegant Belle Maison King Size bed, settle bench, built-in wardrobe with dressing table and stunning views of the sea and sweeping beaches to Whitby, this is a bedroom to enjoy and remember.

Sally's Bedroom

Sally's is a bedroom with twin beds, a wardrobe and chest of drawers with seats to enjoy views of the sea and the Ness headland to the North.

Michael's Bedroom

Michael's is a bedroom looking out towards East Row in Sandsend and the beach, it sleeps up to four in two single beds with two full size single pullout beds, if required. It has a hand basin, built in wardrobe and a chest of drawers. With a TV/DVD, it is also ideal as a recreation room for children.

Bathrooms

Sunnybank has two bathrooms each with WC & shaving sockets: one bathroom has a bath and walk-in shower, whilst the other has a shower. In addition there is a third WC in the house as well as an outside WC. A combination of solar power and gas boiler provides hot water and efficient central heating throughout.
