The Hawthornes offers luxury self catering holiday log cabins in the picturesque North Yorkshire village of Middleton near Pickering. There are two 4 star rated Finnish log cabins available set in a beautiful 11 acres of grounds, each of which is fitted to the highest specification and benefits from underfloor heating, a modern lounge and a West facing veranda. The accommodation is ideal for a romantic break, which can be tailored to your requirements with evening meals and breakfasts available on request.

Inside

The two eco lodges are recently completed and have excellent modern facilities and are fitted to the highest specification. They have an open plan lounge/dining area with a large, comfy sofa, flatscreen TV, Blue Ray DVD player and log burning stove with a free supply of logs.

There is also a fully fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge, oven, microwave, toaster and kettle, as well as a large West facing veranda with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. The properties are heated by underfloor heating throughout, run by a ground source heat pump and there is free Wi-Fi access available.

Bed linen, duvets and towels included in the price along with the heating costs. Including unlimited supply of kindling and logs for the log burner. Small goody pack provided on arrival. Cakes available to order for special occasions.

As well as the luxury eco lodges, the Hawthornes offers luxury bed and breakfast accommodation and has a Caravan Club certified caravan site. Evening meals are available on request.

Storage for outdoor gear and stabling for horses.

Availability

Minimum 3 night stay. We are unable to accommodate children under 12 or single sex groups. Short breaks available in the mid/low season (minimum 3 nights).

Around and About

You can walk straight from your lodge and you may catch a glimpse of hares or roe deer that often visit . Maps and local guide books are available for your use, and the North York Moors National Park is close by. For cyclists, Dalby Forest is about 15 minutes away and has bike tracks and a visitor centre. If you want to explore the local area, the popular market towns of Pickering and Malton are within easy reach, and the coastal resorts of Whitby and Scarborough are just over half an hour away for a day by the sea. The historic city of York is only a half hour drive away

Directions

From the North (A1): Follow the A1 Southbound and exit onto the B6267 towards Thirsk. At the t junction turn left onto the A61. Follow the A61 through Thirsk and at the roundabout take the first exit onto the A170 (Sutton Road). Follow the A170 for 25 miles to Middleton, turn left opposite the Phone Box into High Back Side. The Hawthornes is on the left hand side. From the South (A1m): Follow the A1(M) Northbound and exit at junction 49 onto the A168 towards Thirsk. After 7 miles keep left onto the exit ramp and at the roundabout take the second exit onto the A170 towards Thirsk. At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A170. Follow the A170 for 25 miles to Middleton, turn left opposite the Phone Box into High Back Side. The Hawthornes is on the left hand side. From the A169: Follow the A169 towards Pickering. At the roundabout join the A170 towards Kirkbymoorside. After 1 ½ miles turn right opposite the Phone Box into High Back Side. The Hawthornes is on the left hand side. By Rail: The nearest railway station is at Malton, 10 miles away, 20 minutes by taxi.
